Update Cardivate
Download the latest version of the Cardivate add-on for Anki and install or upgrade in two clicks.
How to install or upgrade
Download the file
Click the Download button above. Your browser saves
cardivate.ankiaddon to your Downloads folder.
Open Anki
Make sure you're running Anki 2.1.50 or newer. Older versions cannot load the add-on.
Install from file
Go to Tools → Add-ons → Install from file… and pick the
cardivate.ankiaddon you just downloaded. If you're
upgrading, this overwrites the old version automatically — your
license key, settings, and decks are kept intact.
Restart Anki
When Anki restarts, you'll see a Cardivate menu in the toolbar. Open Cardivate → Settings and confirm your license is active. You're ready to generate cards.
Cardivate is a paid product with a license-key flow. AnkiWeb's automatic add-on directory is for free, open-source tools. Direct distribution lets us ship updates faster and keep your install file tied to your purchase. The Check for updates button inside the add-on (Cardivate → Check for updates) tells you whenever a new version is on this page.
Already installed?
The add-on checks this page once a day in the background and shows a small popup when a new version is available. You can also run the check on demand: Cardivate → Check for updates in Anki's toolbar.
Troubleshooting the install
- "Invalid add-on file" — re-download. The file occasionally gets truncated by aggressive antivirus tools; retry without the AV momentarily disabled.
- Anki doesn't show the Cardivate menu — check Tools → Add-ons; if Cardivate is listed but disabled, click Toggle Enabled. Restart Anki after.
- "License invalid" after upgrade — paste your key again in Cardivate → Settings. Some upgrades reset the device fingerprint; if you've hit the device cap, free a slot via api.cardivate.com/portal.
