Terms of Service
Last updated: May 6, 2026
By installing the Cardivate Anki add-on, activating a license key, or using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
Cardivate is an Anki add-on that converts user-supplied PDF documents into flashcards using third-party AI models. The service includes a license server that meters credit usage and handles activations.
2. Licenses & credits
- A license key authorises you to use a fixed number of credits. One credit covers one generated flashcard, unless otherwise stated.
- Each license may be activated on up to two devices. Contact us if you need more.
- Credits do not expire. Unused credits remain on your license indefinitely.
- Failed generations are refunded to your credit balance automatically.
- License keys are personal. Sharing a key in a way that exceeds the device limit may result in suspension.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass the license server.
- Use the service to generate content that violates applicable law, infringes intellectual-property rights, or constitutes hate speech, harassment, or sexual content involving minors.
- Submit content you do not have the right to process.
- Resell, repackage, or sublicense Cardivate output as a competing automated service.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to drive generation requests, or attempt to evade fair-use limits, daily request caps, or device limits.
- Share, publish, or transfer your license key to other users.
4. Fair use & rate limits
To keep the service responsive for everyone, we apply per-license daily request caps and short-term burst limits. These limits are sized so that normal study workflows are never affected. We may adjust them, and may temporarily slow or block requests from a license that exceeds reasonable usage patterns or shows signs of automation.
5. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to purchase a license, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if higher. If you are under that age, you may only use Cardivate with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
6. Refunds
Unused credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase. Used credits are non-refundable. To request a refund, contact us via the contact page. Refunds are processed by our payment provider and may take up to 10 business days to appear on your wallet or statement.
7. Pricing & payment
Prices are listed in US dollars. Payment is processed by NOWPayments in USDT on the Tron (TRC20) network; the equivalent USD amount is fixed at checkout. You are responsible for any local taxes that may apply to your purchase.
8. Service availability
We aim for high availability but provide the service "as is" with no guaranteed uptime. We may perform maintenance, change features, or discontinue parts of the service. Material changes that affect paid customers will be communicated by email where practical.
9. Third-party AI & output disclaimer
Cardivate routes generation requests to third-party AI providers. The accuracy, suitability, and quality of generated flashcards is best-effort and depends on the input PDF. AI models can produce content that is incorrect, incomplete, biased, or misleading.
You are responsible for reviewing every generated card before relying on it. Cardivate output is not professional advice and must not be used as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, academic, or safety-critical decisions. Different users may receive similar or identical AI-generated output for similar inputs; AI-generated content cannot be claimed as original or exclusive to any user.
10. Intellectual property
You retain all rights to the PDFs you submit and to the flashcards generated from them, subject to the non-exclusivity note in section 9. Cardivate, the brand name, and the source of the add-on are protected by copyright. Nothing in these Terms grants you a trademark licence.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cardivate is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or studying time. Our total liability for direct damages is limited to the amount you paid for the license in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or revoke a license that violates these Terms; in that case, unused credits paid for in the previous 14 days will be refunded.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the service after a change indicates acceptance.
